CMM Inspector / Romer Arm
Job Summary
Accurate Technology is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control (QC) Inspector experienced with portable CMMs (Romer Arm) to support our aerospace manufacturing operations. In this role, you will perform mechanical and dimensional inspections—receiving, in-process, and final—to ensure products meet internal standards, customer specifications, and applicable aerospace requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily Romer Arm startup checks (angular accuracy checks, scale bar checks, etc.) to ensure accurate measurements.
- Read, understand, and accurately interpret engineering drawings, models, and specifications, including GD&T requirements.
- Perform in-process, receiving, and final inspections using a Romer Absolute Arm and other metrology tools.
- Document First Article Inspections (FAIs) using AS9102 forms and submit through Net-Inspect when required.
- Assist with inspections using micrometers, bore gages, calipers, height gages, and other precision tools.
- Maintain accurate inspection records, report nonconformances, and support root-cause and corrective actions.
- Ensure nonconforming products are clearly identified, properly segregated, and processed according to disposition (rework or scrap).
- Verify machine setups and first-piece inspections to support production quality.
What You’ll Bring
- Strong ability to interpret blueprints, 3D models, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
- Working knowledge of AS9102 aerospace First Article Inspection standards.
- Hands-on experience with Romer Arms and Verisurf (or similar metrology software).
- Proficiency with common inspection tools (height gages, gage blocks, micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc.).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong attention to detail, documentation habits, and quality mindset.
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in Quality Assurance within a manufacturing environment.
- 2–5 years of experience using a Romer Arm or similar portable CMM in production.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Bonus Qualifications
- Aerospace/AS9100 machine shop experience (optional)
